The Promised Land!

Those Words above were spoken by our Lord directly to Joshua upon the death of Moses (Joshua was incredibly close to Moses). The first nine verses of Joshua are filled with our Lord’s encouragement AND calling upon Joshua’s life and how he would “…lead people to the promised land!” Within Paradise Bound, we share that same calling and privilege of leading multitudes into Salvation and thus The Promised Land!

Thank you to everyone that have Prayed, partnered, and participated with us in this, HIS calling. But, do not miss that our Lord also says throughout those nine verses; “…I will not fail you or forsake you”, “Be strong and very courageous, do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Why would God say all these things to Joshua at the moment he was being commissioned into service? He could only say these things as the One who knew what the future held for Joshua as he led people to the promised land. HE knew the incredibly difficult battles that lay ahead…for Joshua, and all those called to “…lead people to the promised land”…PBM included.

“Be strong and courageous…you will lead people to the promised land!” That verse is inscribed upon Luke Sullivan’s memorial that, barring COVID-19, would have been mounted in stone today at Paradise Landing in Guatemala. Today, June 27th marks one year since the tragic accident that claimed Luke’s life and forever changed the life of Bruce Van Fleet and his family, as well as PBM. We mourn with Luke’s family, holding them up in Prayer as we also celebrate his life. Praying continually as well for the Van Fleet family as they journey through their healing, and calling to
“…lead people to the promised land.”

Updates for the Van Fleets can be found at:

Our Heavenly Father knew what lay ahead for Joshua. HE as well knew, and was Sovereignly in control of, what lay ahead for Luke and Bruce as they answered the call upon their hearts to “…lead people to the promised land.”. HIS promises again out of Joshua 1; “…I will not fail you or forsake you”, “Be strong and very courageous, do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

My friends, our Lord’s promises are Eternal in their very essence and thus transcend absolutely everything, including death. Our Heavenly Father is Sovereign and has not failed or forsaken. And indeed, Luke has led countless to Salvation and thus The Promised Land even through his death. Ashley, the Sullivan family, Bruce and Jen Van Fleet, PBM, and all directly involved continue to carry out HIS calling as well! Clinging to our Heavenly Father and HIS promises; “…I will not fail you or forsake you”, “Be strong and very courageous, do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go…you will lead people to the promised land!”

HIS servant,

dan

ps: Some years before the accident, a friend shared with me this thought; “Each of us must decide; either God is Sovereign, or HE is not.” Each one of us must personally come to the decision of if we believe our Lord to be Sovereign…or not. During this last year, I’ve had to struggle with that thought, and surely I was/am not alone. But ponder deeply with me if our Lord is not sovereign. For if HE is not sovereign, then nothing we believe as a Christian stands…nothing. Everything is for naught…including Salvation, and thus Eternal Life. Yet, if God is Sovereign (and HE is), then HIS promises are Real and True, and they are Eternal…and for those who believe…we will be reunited soon in The Promised Land!
