So much more than death…

“…you will be with ME in Paradise!”  Our Lord’s Word to but one thief, yet to us all (pending your decision).  As we observe Good Friday today, may it be so much more than just “observing”.  May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit, minister HIS words of Life into you this day as HE has to me.  Waking me at midnight.  Speaking into my heart anew; “…you will be with ME in Paradise!”.  Transforming my heart!

In light of Jesus’ precious words to the thief, and thus us, it is easy to forget the thief’s own words that come before our Lord’s promise to him of Paradise.  “…we indeed have been condemned justly, we are getting what we deserve for our deeds…”.  Both thieves knew that, even though only one declared it.  But, the thief’s words did not end there, nor must ours.  Acknowledgement of our sinful, hopeless, helpless, condemned state, further clarified in Roman 6:23; “the wages of sin is death…”, is simply not enough.  Believing is not even enough, as “…even the demons believe and shudder.”.  Through this thief’s continued words, that can be ours today, we see him place his Hope, his Trust…his Heart in the King of kings and Lord of lords, HIS Savior;  “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”

Everything changes with Christ’s words, “…you will be with ME in Paradise” already proven; “…in that while we were yet still sinners, Christ died for us…”.    But simply dying for us was/is not enough…   Many, including the enemy of our souls, would that the story ends here, Christ dying for us.  The story, Salvation itself, does NOT end here, and it need not in your life either.  Today we observe the death of our Lord, something I love to deeply ponder as we journey through the Easter weekend.  The enemy of our souls would love it had the story ended as he thought it had and as he purposefully tries to convince us it has.  The victory would be his.  Condemnation ours…

What of your decision today?  Will it end with Christ dying for your sins, OR will it take Life in the reason that HE gave HIS very life for yours?  Ponder deeply that question today…   Heaven is poised!  Sunday is coming…!

HIS servant,
dan & each of us Paradise Bound

PS:  “…you will be with ME in Paradise!”, HIS words to the thief are NOT just something in our Paradise Bound logo, NOT just where we derived our name from, but fully who Paradise Bound is and evermore will be in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
