Day 4- Abide

Devotional #4 – The Painful, Yet Necessary Effects of Pruning

John 15:1-2:  “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” It is evident in this verse that both the Son and the Father share an […]

Day 3 - Abide

Devotional #3 – Our Fruit Confirms Us

John 15:8 states that “By this, my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.” According to this verse, what is it that proves we are genuinely “abiding” or have a broken connection with the vine?   What evidence can you point to that confirms “fruit” in your life? […]

Day 2 - Abide

Devotional #2 – The Value of His Words

John Piper further notes that “Jesus gets very specific about what is flowing between the vine and the branch. He mentions words — His words — His love, and His joy.  John 15:7 says, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for […]

Day 1 - Abide

Devotional #1 – What Does It Mean to Abide?

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, […]

…and finding HIM!

Authentic, effective ministry always, alwaysflows out of union and communion with God. Then, if we’re going to be effective servants of the Lord,if we’re going to have something to give others,we have to cultivate and maintaina growing, vital, intimate love relationship with God.” Dear Friends, and Prayer Warriors,    I’ll be as brief as I can, […]

Nemo’s Story

The 2018 and 2019 mission team members that have served in Guatemala have had the privilege of getting to know Nehemias. During the last two years Nemo has worked beside our teams, doing “Whatever it Takes” to keep them safe, healthy, and provide them with the best mission experience possible. His fun-loving demeanor, passion to share the Gospel, and hardworking attitude have made him an invaluable part of the PBM team.

Bible Institute Update

PBM’s Bible Institute continued throughout this past Summer, but also ramped up substantially after our Mission Teams. In August, we graduated yet another class. This one with 52 students in the jungles of the Peten! In 2019, 101 students have graduated from our Bible Institute from 3 different campuses, for a total of 295 graduates […]

Fall Newsletter 2019 – Continuing to Seek HIM!

What an absolutely beautiful covenant promise that our Lord offers us in the verses above in Jeremiah 29:12-14! Yet, our Lord, in HIS infinite wisdom, places the first move (step of faith) in our hands, actually in our hearts! Who would not want to “find” the Lord HIMself..having HIS full Loving attention? To be gifted […]

Anya’s surgery & Day 30!!!

As you guys know, our story is very… different. A lot of people could say, “well God has forsaken you”, “why would He take your husband from you” “he was so young to die”. Those are a lot of “normal” statements I've heard. Especially because, as humans, we weren’t made to deal with death. We were made to live in perfect harmony with God forever. Death wasn’t supposed to be this jarring thing. It didn’t exist before Adam and Eve sinned. So I get the statements and the questions all the time. Death is difficult for me to wrap my head around. Most days it feels like Luke is gone on a trip that he’s never coming back from. Such an odd thing to process.

Day 28 –  “…a spiritual transaction” Huh?

My friends, Day 28 has arrived and only 3 days are left of our journey together in 30 Days of Prayer! The word “transaction” may seem kind of cold to describe the personal relationship we can have with Christ Jesus our Lord…yet it is one we can understand easily, as every one of us transact every single day of our lives…secularly speaking. So Prayer should be, as transactions are, a very normal, ongoing, exciting, interaction between us and “the Lover of our souls”…not someone just seeking something from us...or us seeking something from them, as is a worldly transaction…which have become incredibly common, but unfortunately cold (think online purchases) in our lives today.

Day 27 – “…for what is yet to come!”

Today is an exciting day because TOMORROW, Saturday, Oct 19th, we begin our final 3 day fast for this 30 days of prayer. The culmination of prayer leads to the PBM board meeting on Monday night. So we fast and pray for that and for the personal things going on in our lives.
